This set introduces a dark and electrifying new era of battle, featuring the debut of Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex. Whether you are a seasoned competitive Trainer looking to test new strategies or a casual player wanting to dive into the fun, the Prerelease format offers a balanced, exciting, and friendly environment for everyone.   

Format & How It Works

The Prerelease uses a quick, fun, and creative limited deck-building format:

• The Kit: Every player receives a Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Build & Battle Box. Inside, you’ll find a 40-card ready-to-play deck, 4 booster packs of Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, and 1 of 4 unique foil promo cards (Miraidon, Slowbro, Dhelmise, or Bastiodon).   

• Deck Building: You will open your packs and use your pull pool to customize and refine a 40-card deck on the spot.   

• The Matches: Players will compete in fast-paced games using 4 Prize cards instead of the standard 6.

Event Details

• Entry Includes: 1× Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Build & Battle Box plus additional prize packs/participation rewards at the conclusion of the event.   

• What to Bring: Please bring damage counters, a randomizer (dice or coin), and a valid Play! Pokémon Player ID. (If you don't have a Player ID, we can easily set one up for you at registration!)
